Malai Modak

Ganpati Bappa Moriya!!

Wishing everyone a very Happy Ganesh Chaturthi.. Hope this year lord Ganesha fulfills all our wishes and bless us all with good health and lots of wealth..

This is the most awaited festival in our house, we always celebrate this with loads of devotion and enthusiasm..

Every year in our Melbourne home we welcome Bappa for one and half day and make sure to put our best effort to create something different in terms of decoration and prasad.. This year we decided to go for Thunderstorm theme, the weather here is Melbourne was our inspiration..

And for prasad I decided to make Malai Modak for the first day.. Modak is bappas favourite and Malai Modak is loved by everyone in my house.. So decided to please everyone.. This recipe is very simple and easy to make .. Actually it’s a transition of my Malai Ladoo and giving it a Modak Shape..

Last year I had prepared the Steamed Modak which were more traditional and hard than this to make..

All I did was used a steel Modak mould

Used the same recipe of Malai Ladoo but Doubled the quantity, I was able to make around 20 modak..

The process to shape them is very easy all you need to do is after you make the paneer and condense milk mixture make sure the mixture completely cools down for  it to take the shape properly.. Grease the mould with oil/ghee..

As mentioned in the recipe I garnished them with Saffron milk but did not use Pistachio ..

Hope you all enjoy this Modak as much as you enjoy the festival .. Ganpati Bappa Moriya 🙏🙏
